Attraction Information
Beecraigs Country Park is one of 3 country parks in West Lothian. You can find it nestled in the Bathgate Hills near the historic town of Linlithgow. Beercraig provides a wide range of leisure and recreational activities within its 370 hectare grounds. It is open all year and free to visit, although there may be a charge for some activities.
The Park offers miles of crisscrossing woodland paths and trails to explore that also offer excellent access to main attractions such as the adventure play area, the animal attraction, and the Visitor Centre, where a free map of the park is available (or you can download it from their website), plus advice on access routes from the friendly staff there. Ranger Service advice and a number of self-guiding leaflets are also available at the Visitor Centre.
Kids will love the play area, which offers diverse play stations, where you can climb the spider net, race each other on the flying foxes, and explore the wigwam huts, play in the sand play area, or on the slides and swings! Mountain Bike Trails are also available if you fancy a cycle with the kids, which you can also download from their website, or obtain from the Visitor Centre. The trails range from easy (green) to difficult (red), then severe (black)!
Please be aware that cyclists must give way to walkers, horse riders, and other park users.
Visit the Animal Attraction for some great opportunities to see the resident herd of red deer, plus a variety of cattle, then perhaps have a picnic or barbecue (in designated areas). There is so much to do here, you can really make a day of it!
