The Amerton Railway is a 1 mile 2 foot gauge line, set in the rolling Staffordshire countryside in the grounds of the popular Amerton Working Farm.
Amerton Railway is a great day out for all of the family, based at Amerton Farm near Stafford in Staffordshire, come for a steam train ride through the beautiful countryside. Diesel trains run on Saturdays, steam trains on Sundays, bank holidays and midweek during half terms and summer holidays.
You can pick up your tickets from the Booking Office which is next to the charming museum. While access to the Locomotive Shed and the Yard are usually limited members of the train crew do sometimes give guided tours: if you're going specifically for that element it's best to pre arrange!
Every Halloween there is a spooky but family friendly Monster Train special that is fun for all ages if they like that kind of thing; with a slightly spookier version held in the Play Barn for the older and braver types!
