About Witley Court & Gardens

Discover the beautiful but dramatic ruins of Witley Court & Gardens. Learn about the historic stories that made it what it is, and become intrigued by the stories of lavish house parties that used to reside here, as well as the people behind them. From servants to royalty, there were party guests and visitors from all around.

Witley Court is situated in wonderful Worcestershire and is estimated to be around from as early as the 13th century. A new addition was built in the 15th century and in 1655 the estate was bought by Thomas Foley. Who transformed Witley Court into a medieval manor house. However, in 1937, Witley Court, unfortunately, suffered a great loss in a devastating fire. Leaving Witley Court in disarray, and has remained unlived in since then. It may not be a home anymore, but it's still a historical significance as a ruin, which represents a bygone age. The historic building holds a great deal of culture, stories and more that will interest those who love history. The sweeping driveway will invoke a sense of admiration, as its beautiful architecture will amaze you as you imagine the extravagant parties that resided here. Which were very popular with the Prince of Wales (King Edward VII). And if you take a closer look, you'll notice the charred timbers from the disastrous fire that destroyed one of England's greatest country houses.

Witley Court Gardens
Through landscaped formal gardens, intricately designed parterres and vibrant colourful flower beds, you'll be lost in wonder. The gardens are a magnificent sight for those who love nature and like to enjoy the gardens, with their stunning topiary and colourful flowers. But that's not all there is to the gardens. Wander around some more and you'll find the Perseus & Andromeda Witley Court fountain. A beautiful fountain that comes to life when 'firing' water, which occurs every day from April to the end of October.
Wilderness Play Area
Kids can have just as much fun here, with a play area fit for wilderness lovers! With a huge range of flowers, mini beasts and a wooden play area, they can have fun for hours. A treehouse shaped like a seed pod welcomes you in, as well as outdoor musical instruments, a wobbly bridge, scramble nets and slides and a grass-covered amphitheatre. For those who love to act and role play! Of course, there's no outdoor adventurous day without a splendid picnic. With a wide area to chill out in and a visitor centre, the whole family can relax and have a bite to eat.

Woodland Walks
Any day spent outdoors isn't complete without a woodland walk. And you're not shy of them here! Follow winding woodland paths as you explore WC parkland and discover various species of trees and shrubs from all over the world. You can even walk past the lake and admire the rustic Victorian boathouse.

Then once you've finished exploring, head to the shop for some delicious jams, zingy chutneys, a great selection of wine and toys & souvenirs!
