White Dragon Activity Centre

White Dragon Activity Centre is a unique, imaginative outdoor activity centre set in beautiful, secluded North Essex countryside. Experiences are delivered by fun people with interesting backgrounds.

At some activity centres, you get a bored teen who gives you a basic runthrough of how to use the equipment and leaves you to it. Not here! Every one of our coaches genuinely knows a lot about archery, axe throwing, survival or airguns and will be happy to answer questions and give expert tips. They're also fun people, and we're famous in the local area for creating a brilliant atmosphere with lots of laughs while people discover new skills.

The team includes a former marine biologist, an ex Royal Marines Commando, a teacher and a writer! All our experiences creatively combine a love of getting active outdoors with expertise in history, science, survival and folklore.

Our archery sessions are fun, inclusive and give you an experience you can't find anywhere else!

All our experiences (indoor and outdoor) get you practicing on traditional Prince's Colours targets, before moving onto Book outdoors, and you'll even get to follow a woodland target trail with fantasy-themed targets and swinging challenges. Where else could you shoot at a vampire, goblin or sea monster?

We have equipment suitable for all ages, from age 10 to 100. Our bows are real, but they come in different strengths, so you don't need to be strong or experienced to use them. If you fancy something really special, you can upgrade to a longbow - a beautiful handcrafted wooden bow, the kind used by archers of old in war and sport!

There's no macho stuff here and that's why we're so popular with families, schools, disability groups and, well... everyone.

Don't worry, we mean 'quirky' in a good way!

White Dragon Activity Centre has two sites: one for indoor activities, one for outdoors. The indoor range, housed in a beautiful traditional Essex barn, has been transformed into a castle on the inside! Complete with battlements, a 'dungeon' themed snug where you can enjoy refreshments under flickering torchlight, and even an indoor tree with fairies and critters peeking from secret doorways... it's like nowhere else.

If you're coming for airguns, there's also a very cool 'army bunker' upstairs. With a sniper's window that opens out onto the shooting range below, it's a great place to try taking down targets from above.

The outdoor centre has a different, but equally incredible, feel. Set in five acres of woodland, it's far away from road noise and buildings, so you really feel you're escaping the hustle and bustle. There are grassy shooting ranges lined with rustling willow trees, woodlands where targets peep out from behind trees, and a secret 'survival' area where you can gather around the campfire, under the shelter of a parachute, and discover the vital skills of bushcraft.

This isn't a standard leisure centre - it's a unique, creative little gem.
