Attraction Information
The Hepworth Wakefield has over 1,600 sq m of light-filled gallery spaces, making it one of the largest exhibition spaces outside of the capital and including, for those in the know, the Wakefield Collection, the Gott Collection, and the Hepworth Collection of over 40 rarely-seen plasters.
They're very welcoming to children and offer a family trail to help you keep 5 to 12s moving and interested throughout the galleries, a cool riverside play park featuring a big wooden pirate ship plus swings, a zip wire and plenty more exciting equipment alongside the family picnic area. Bliss!
There is always something to do at weekends and school holidays with free and paid for activities arranged regularly, so use our link to their timetables to have a look at what extra fun you and the kids can get in on!
Saturday Art Club sees regular timetabled activities like Animation Classes, computer game coding tuition, plus every single Saturday 11am to 4pm they've got the Art Pods session for families to get creative together, so you get to join in: lucky you! Also if you've got arty teens The Young People's Programme offers 16 to 19 year olds the chance to participate in some really cool and inventive art based projects.
