Attraction Information

We bet your kids love The Gruffalo by the bestselling children’s author Julia Donaldson! And who wouldn’t? Well, what if we told you, you can enter the magical realms of the deep dark forest and meet all of your favourite characters from The Gruffalo, Zog, Room On The Broom and more...

The new Gruffalo and Friends attraction has officially opened and it's located on the famous seafront in Blackpool. It's the perfect family-friendly attraction in the midst of a cluster of family attractions - what could be more perfect, eh?

Things to do
Run wild in the world of your favourite stories in this exciting immersive experience! Join the Gruffalo and Friends on their brand-new indoor play adventure. Burst through the pages of your favourite books into a magical place of imagination, creativity, discovery and play.

Adapted from some of the UK’s most loved children’s stories by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, your little adventure-seekers will come face to face with beloved characters from The Gruffalo, Zog, The Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom and more!

Meet the Gruffalo and Mouse as you clamber, crawl and slide your way through the multiple depths of the deep dark wood. Enrol in Dragon School with Zog and take on some of Madam Dragon’s challenges in the medieval, soft-padded maze. Dive straight in to join Snail and Whale in the ocean-themed ball pool and enjoy a truly unique day and night experience. Those looking for a quieter and more relaxing time can step inside the GruffaloChild’s night-time, sensory playroom.

The littlest of friends can enjoy a squashy, story-led experience with imaginative exploration, in the magical, Room on the Broom soft-play zone. With 6 captivating and immersive zones, this 2-hour play experience is enjoyable for all children under 10 years old.

Alternatively, taxis are readily available from the train station and all should have accessible vehicles. A local taxi service can be contacted by telephoning 01253 292929.

By Tram
Take any Promenade tram to the Central Pier stop.

Trams operate from Starr Gate all the way through to Fleetwood along Blackpool Promenade. Operating roughly every 10 – 15 minutes. All trams (excluding Heritage Trams) have level boarding and step-free interiors, with designated pushchair/wheelchair areas to ensure accessibility for all. All except the Heritage trams have both visual & audible announcers to inform passengers of the next stops.
