Things To Do
Big & Mighty
One of the highlights of Blackpool Zoo is the Project Elephant Base Camp, a spacious enclosure that is home to a herd of Asian elephants. Did you know the indoor area is the largest in the UK? Visitors can watch these intelligent and social animals as they roam around their habitat or even get up close and personal with them by booking a special elephant encounter experience.
Another popular attraction at Blackpool Zoo is Giraffe Heights, which offers visitors the chance to see the tallest mammals from ground level! Marvel at how tall they are or gaze upon them from head height at the giraffe house! All in their naturalistic habitat, you'll find the animals go about their daily life, like giraffes grazing on the savannah! Or head to the Big Cat House to catch the majestic African lions lounging in the sun, or the elusive Amur Tiger. Blackpool Zoo's animal feeds also offer you the chance for hands-on experiences as you get close to the giraffes during feeding time, with the experienced keepers!
Then come face to face with the animals of the oceans at Active Oceans. Discover the sea lions in one of the largest sea lion pools in the UK and the wonderful Magellanic penguins living in Penguin Cove. There is just so much to see.
Can you spot gorillas as they roam in the Gorilla Mountain? Next door at Orangutan Outlook discover the mighty Bornean orangutans as they climb and play with each other.
Small & Majestic

Don't forget to visit Lemur Wood! The UK's and Blackpool Zoo's first walk-through habitat, Come face to face with ring-tailed lemurs as they leap for joy and jump across within inches of you! As you wander through, you'll see a lake of flamingos, rare geese and ducks too!

Blackpool North Station is a 5-minute walk from the town centre, where you can take the 5B bus service to the zoo.
Blackpool South Station is 3 miles from the Zoo.
By Bus:
The 5B bus service runs every 60 minutes.
By Car:

Follow the M6 to Junction 32 and take the M55 to Junction 4, then follow the signs to the zoo. From the town centre or promenade, follow the brown signs.
