Live classical music in a relaxed indoor setting
Our Summer Concert is a lovely way to relax with family and enjoy live orchestral classical music in a less formal setting. Held at The Atrium, St Barts School, bring a picnic and enjoy the music whatever the weather. The perfect way to enjoy classical music with your family. This year’s concert features a lively sport-themed programme including Ravel’s Bolero, and William’s Quidditch Match Brass Fanfare. The Atrium is covered, with seating at trestle tables available for picnics, whatever the weather. There will also be a children’s fancy dress competition and children are warmly encouraged to come in sports kit.
Newbury Symphony Orchestra is one of the UK’s longest-established amateur orchestras, founded in 1879. We perform a wide range of orchestral music, often working with outstanding young soloists from the local area. Many of our soloists have been performing with us from a young age, before going on to study music professionally.
