Can You Find Mary, Queen of Scots' Lost Crown?

Many, many years ago, a priceless bejewelled crown belonging to Mary, Queen of Scots, was mislaid! Legend has it that the Queen entrusted this sparkly headwear to her faithful servant, Ivor Getware, to take to a nearby jeweller to be cleaned and reset. Ivor dutifully did as he was told, but on the way back home, tripped on a kerbstone, banged his head, and dropped the bag containing the crown. After coming round, Ivor staggered back to the Palace of Holyroodhouse with no recollection of what he'd been up to. As you can imagine, the Queen was NOT impressed! As time went by, Ivor started recalling odd hints of places he may or may not have visited. He noted them down, but to date, no one has been able to make head nor tail of them; any searchers have simply returned empty-handed. Could YOU be the lucky explorers who finally discover where Ivor lost the crown?
