About Murrayfield Ice Rink
Murrayfield Ice Rink provides a great venue for a leisure activity that everyone can try, whatever their age or ability level. There are a variety of sessions available, including Family Sessions, and you can hire skates too as they have over 1,000 pairs ranging from a child's size 4 to an adult size 14! A safe and friendly environment with cloakroom and locker facilities. So what are you waiting for? Get your skates on!
The sessions include General Skating on a daily basis, which is good for everyone and fairly quiet (except during school holidays!), and Learn to Skate every Sunday, a certified progamme with 45 minutes of compulsory group tuition from one of their resident coaches. A great way introduction to skating that will help build confidence. Family skating sessions (on Thursdays and Fridays) are normally pretty quiet and offer a great atmosphere to skate with the kids, plus offer Leisure Skating Sessions several times a week, and Disco sessions on Fridays and Saturdays.
It is a good idea to dress warmly, with long legged trousers that allow room for movement, plus a t-shirt or long sleeved top under a jumper, although some sessions may be colder than others so bring your coat too! Gloves aren't essential but they are safer if you fall.
