Lee Valley Velopark
Choose from cycling the track in the iconic velodrome, race on the road circuit, tackle their mountain bike trails or jump and bump on the beams of the BMX track! The choice is yours! It's all things bikey with every discipline covered and full and supportive training and supervision. In short, it's wheely good, especially as they can get to grips with the different options before you have to buy them their own equipment. Fickle-proof!
There are 1 hour taster BMX sessions for over 7s with bike and helmet hire provided (but you must provide or hire your own gloves); this can be followed by a BMX skills sessions to consolidate your learning and improve on your execution. Once you know what you're doing you can simply access the Pay and ride sessions for some self supervising stylish fun.
Mountain Bikers can also learn some neat tricks and improve their techniques on the Youth MTB taster programme or after school club, plus there's Road Cycling training and experiences available too! There's also the Lee Valley VeloPark Experience comprising track taster session and technique training for over 12s (same deal with equipment provision) with a variety of bikes available to try and the Youth Track Taster sessions for over 12s. Well worth looking at all the options before deciding, or taking tasters in several to give yourself some experience to base the decision on!
