About Hull Truck Theatre

Hull Truck Theatre is a pioneering theatre with a unique Northern Voice, locally rooted, global in outlook, inspiring artists, audiences and communities to reach their greatest potential.

We produce and present inspiring theatre that reflects the diversity of a modern Britain. We provide the resources, space and support to grow people and ideas, are an ambassador for our city, a flagship for our region and a welcoming home for our communities.

Through our work with schools and local communities we engage with thousands of young people, disabled groups and adults, offering opportunities to participate in the arts, whether as the first step into a career, a way to build confidence and meet new people, or as part of a rounded education.

Shoot the Bull Café Bar

Our café bar is run by award-winning local catering partner and bar operator Shoot the Bull, offering delicious, gourmet street food and a range of beverage. Open Wednesday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm, and every evening there is a performance.

Accessible building with great facilities for families

Hull Truck Theatre is committed to providing accessible performances and events.

Facilities include:

- Two auditoriums with some step-free seats and wheelchair spaces, and booster seats available.

- A free children’s play area located on the Ground Floor which includes books, beanbags, dress up items, sensory toys and a wooden puppet theatre. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

- Male, female, and all-gender toilets, as well as accessible toilets and baby-change facilities.

- Lift access to the first floor.

- A hearing loop.

- Ear defenders, and sensory toys available to loan and welcome audiences to bring with you any items that usually assist in coping with busy or noisy environments.

- We are able to store pushchairs and mobility aids if required, and can offer more accommodations as needed - just ask at the box office for information.

Accessible performance types include:

- Relaxed

- Audio described, with bookable touch-tours

- BSL interpreted

- Captioned

- Baby friendly
