This Summer, experience Haigh Woodland Park, Wigan, with its exhilarating Adventure High Ropes, spectacular Woodland Adventure Golf, Adventure Play Parks, and Picnic Areas. Why not relax with a bite to eat or drink in the Kitchen Courtyard? Or simply enjoy the beauty of their woodland and landscaped gardens, including the peaceful walled garden. Plus, craft workshops and regular Artist Markets. Did we mention that Haigh Woodland Park is dog-friendly?
Things To Do
Situated halfway between Liverpool and Manchester and with great motorway links (M6 and M61), Haigh (pronounced Hay) is a 350-acre woodland playground with plenty of things to do!
Daredevils are welcome on the High Ropes Course! Test your head for heights as you pull and swing your way around the 10m high course. It's the ultimate aerial adventure! There are always the Low Ropes for littluns and beginners. Either way, it's an absolute thrill.
Drop back down to earth on an 18-hole Woodland Adventure Golf Course unlike any you've ever seen, with the Giant Vortex, Windmill, Lagoons and an actual Viking longboat! It's mini golf but with a twist! You can play for as little as £4.50 and even add on a round of Crazy Golf for £1.
Oh, and why not throw in some Footgolf for an extra dose of fun! It's a stunning 9-hole course with views over the Douglas Valley. It's simple, fun and just £6 per player.
On Sundays, discover the charming Haigh Woodland Park Model Railway that's been running since 1950. It's run by the loyal and dedicated Wigan Model Engineers Society Volunteers. You are in for a fun railway ride around the woodland!
There are also plenty of free Woodland Adventure Play Areas for you to enjoy too! This lovely, old woodland is the perfect spot for a weekend walk with nature trails to follow and 20 miles of way-marked trails to explore on foot or bike.
There's plenty of space for car parking and a Visitor Centre that will provide you with all the information you need to make the most of your day at Haigh! Plus, you can even buy souvenirs at the Visitor Centre!
Food and Drink
Journey under the arch and discover a foodie paradise at Haigh Woodland Park's Kitchen Courtyard! Take your pick of over 7 eateries and places to drink. There is a Bakery with the freshest of pastries and cakes. A flower shop. Two cafes straddling the Ice Cream Parlour. A Butchers and Farm Shop, next to the Hand Made Belgian Chocolate Shop and the Tap Room Bar and Pizetta Place. There's something for everyone!
There are also plenty of picnic tables to enjoy a delicious lunch! You'll have the perfect picnic at Haigh!
