Attraction Information

Trade the city centre for a family forest day out at Go Ape Cockfosters. The highest Go Ape course in the South-East and part of London’s much-loved ‘Green Belt’, it’s both tranquil and truly adventurous. The perfect combination!

Before you have a brilliant time and head for heights in the forest canopy, you'll have a thorough safety briefing where you will learn about your clips, the ropes, the risks and what to do in an emergency. You'll get some safety practice in before you go up high too - so don't panic! You'll be whizzing past those tree crossings and leaping from the free-fall Tarzan swings like a pro in no time!

Things to do
You’ll have 2-3 hours to explore rope ladders, zip wires and more awesome features of the Treetop Challenge, like the 16m Tarzan Swings which are bound to give you butterflies. The great thing about this course is that you can adjust the level of difficulty to suit your needs.
Just an orangutan's arm (also known as a 5-minute walk) away from Cockfosters tube station, discover 413 acres of rolling meadows and ancient woodland. It’s a great escape from city life and an easy way to get a healthy dose of fresh air!

Are you ready for the newest and most extreme adventure yet? Try out Go Ape Cockfosters' Challenge Plus! Test your mental grit and physical boundaries on more extreme rope courses, super-exhilarating zip wires and higher tree-to-tree crossings. Finish with a grand finale on the 140m zip line! This is more of an adventure for adults or kids over 16 years old.

Have your little ones still got some energy left in the tank? Burn it all away on the play area or the epic bike trails. Climbing to the top of the treetops is a great dose of thrill to add to your day but exploring the forest floor can also be lots of fun too. Hitch up your mountain bike and explore the extensive woodland!

Go Ape Cockfosters offers an action-packed adventure perfect for zipline fanatics, family adventure days and those who love the outdoors. It's a great place to take teens to if they are in desperate need of a stress-busting activity. Swap out your Xbox or desk for the forest canopy in the beautiful park at Cockfosters.

Book your adventurous treetop experience at Go Ape Cockfosters today and have an amazing time!

Food & drink
Are your tummies rumbling after your epic high-wire adventure? Families can tuck into hot and cold meals at the onsite cafe/restaurant. There is, however, no picnic area.

Travelling & Parking for Visitors
By car:
Leave the M25 at junction 24 and take the Stagg Hill/Cockfosters Road (A111). Continue for approximately 2.5 miles on the A111 and head straight over 3 roundabouts.
Turn left into the main entrance of Trent Country Park. Sometimes your sat-nav will try and send you to another entrance - make sure you join us from Cockfosters Road!
The main entrance to Trent Country Park is not signposted to Go Ape so you'll need to keep your eyes peeled.

By tube:
The nearest tube station is just a 10 minute walk from Cockfosters tube station. As you leave the underground station by the nearest exit, turn right and walk up Cockfosters Road (A111, heading away from the shops).
Trent Country Park is on your right-hand side approximately 400 metres long (see entrance image on right). Follow the park road and you will soon see Go Ape on the right.
Top Tip: check in advance for planned engineering works on the tube – click here for information up to three months in advance.
