Flyup 417 Bike Park
Gloucester, GloucestershireAbout Flyup 417 Bike Park
Parents are always looking for ways to get their kids active and outdoors. Flyup 417 Bike Park fits the bill rather nicely!
The largest Mountain Bike Park in England
Based in the Gloucestershire countryside only 5 minutes from the M5 (J11a) and A417, this is one of the biggest mountain bike facilities in the country so you’ll have plenty of space for the whole family to get their mountain biking fix. With 100 acres of beautiful hillside, the main feature of the 417 Bike Park is a range of outdoor trails, but there is also a seasonally available dirt jump field. On rainy days, head inside to the indoor Pump Track where riders of all abilities can use the track to practice their MTB skills. The pump track can be used by toddlers on balance bikes as easily as it can be by pros practicing their air time skills.
Kids coaching sessions
Kids clubs group coaching sessions run on weekends during term time enabling children to foster confidence and develop skills on their bikes on the trails. As long as they're confidently able to ride a bike without support, they're able to join kids club; we coach children from 3 or 4 years old up to 16. Each term's block is 5 weeks and they are assigned an appropriate level group to enable them to ride with other children of the same ability and skill set.
For even greater progress, one to one coaching is also available throughout the year. This can be booked for one or more riders if everyone is of a similar skill level.
School holidays
During school holidays, MTB Development Groups run 3 times per week for 8-16 year olds; these are all day coaching sessions enabling the children to have fun riding in groups and learning new skills together. In groups of no more than 8, there are groups for children riding blue or red trails comfortably.
Pre-schoolers and term-time riding
For children able to ride in term-time, there are toddler specific pump track sessions and home education sessions on the trails for children to ride the downhill trails on Thursdays.
Discounted riding
For regular riders, they can take advantage of Ride and Save discounts, which enables a 10% or 20% discount on pump track sessions, or a 20% or 30% discount on uplifts, depending on how many sessions they buy upfront. There are also membership options for those who want General Admission to the park without use of the uplift. Memberships are available for regular bikes and e-bikes from £50pcm.
FlyUp Bikes
There is a bike shop onsite offering sales and service. Kit includes Fox, Leatt, Bell, Maxxis, Maddison and many more cycling brands. Bike repairs and servicing can also be accommodated, whether booked in or, subject to availability, on the spot.
Hire equipment
Bikes can be hired from FlyUp Bikes for use onsite at FlyUp 417 Bike Park. The Norco fleet is available from youth sizes through to XL adults. Fox full face helmets can also be hired from the shop.
Cafe
The Stables Cafe offers hot and cold food and drinks. It is open every weekend all day and during the week subject to seasonal hours.
The Southwest's only undercover pump track
Our pump track barn keeps the little ones dry all year round and has benches for parents to stay dry too! Parents can also get hot drinks so protect yourself from the worst of the winter weather while allowing the kids to burn their energy off on two wheels.
The largest bike park in England
With trails graded from blue to double black, we can cater for all abilities of downhill riding. Our gravity fed trails range from blues which are entirely rollable, to reds which add a few more technical challenges like drops and rock gardens, to blacks which add in a lot more challenging features such as gap jumps and roots.
Save tired legs with the uplift
Our uplift service enables riders to save their energy and skip the push up or ride up the hill. By reserving a seat on the bus, you and your bike will be taken safely back to the top of the trails and you'll be ready to go again with no energy used getting yourself up there! Perfect for tired legs, little legs or simply those who prefer to expend their energy displaying some awesome skills while riding downhill.
