Florence Court
Enniskillen, County FermanaghAbout Florence Court
The beautiful Florence Court was formerly the home of the Cole family better known as the Earls of Enniskillen, and as well as being one of Ulster's most significant 18th century domiciles
It's surrounded by a pleasing expanse of parkland, garden and woodland, with amazing views to Benaughlin and the Cuilcagh Mountains, this is a day out for all the family and there are tours designed specifically for children that are available Monday to Friday in July and August where a costumed tutor, maid or governess will guide you around the estate!
Weekends alternate between the standard tour and a costumed tour 'The Living History Tour'. These tours include access to Victorian toys and stories, plus see an authentic recreation of a Victorian Kid's bedroom!
Once you have explored around this impressive and classically styled Irish house, with its stunningly opulent decor, try a look around the Pleasure Grounds and the pretty Walled Garden too! Ideal strolling territory with the smalls and you'll also come across a sawmill, ice house, an absolutely ancient Yew tree and the traditionally thatched Heather House as you explore the landscape.
A number of family oriented events are usually put on during school holidays. These include a 'Living History Tour' that sometimes includes costumed characters, giving an insight into 1920s Florence Court, Easter Egg trails, family fun days, country fairs and craft fairs as well as Hallowe'en and Christmas activities!
