Attraction Information
The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's top visitor attractions. With many over 210m high, the scenic cliffs stretch for some 8 kilometres alongside the Atlantic offering stunning views across County Clare's western seaboard. A superb place for amateur photographers!
Their award winning and impressively eco-friendly visitor centre features a state-of-the-art interpretive centre, called Atlantic Edge! A huge domed cave is split into 4 sections that each explore a differing element of the Cliffs of Moher: Ocean, Rock, Nature and Man! With the kid appeal of modern imagery, semi interactive exhibits, multi-media displays and active experiences, it's a stop your whole family is likely to enjoy! If you're up for a bit more in-depth information you can take a tour which will guide your explorations from low caves to an elevated virtual reality cliff adventure presentation!
For a small additional fee, you can also access the O'Brien's Tower, which lets you onto the rooftop of the centre itself and offers the highest viewpoint of all, terrific for family photos with a panoramic backdrop. This bit is capacity controlled however so consider your timing if the place is likely to be busy.
The visitor centre has a restaurant and cafe, plus gift and craft shops. You can pick up guides to bird watching and local walk maps at the centre reception point too so there's plenty to do here whether up or down, in or out!
