Attraction Information
Brightlingsea Open Air Pool is a vintage offering in lido terms, originally built in 1933 and comprising a 15m paddling pool and a 50m main pool. The majority of sessions are simple open swim and lane swim varieties, with the occasional inflatable session worth watching out for! A great option for a summer's day full of fun with the kids.
It is a facility extremely popular with local residents and holidaymakers alike so time your visit with consideration if you prefer a quiet environment. The formal season runs from the end of May through to the beginning of September and Season Tickets are available to save you a bundle if you're going to be hitting it every week. Why wouldn't you?
Next to the popular boating lake is the eponymous open air swimming pool. Once a salt water pool, this is now a two level freshwater facility. Parents can supposedly safely leave young children in the shallow paddling pool, while the more experienced swimmer can enjoy the deeper waters of the main pool for exercise or leisure swimming.
