At the heart of Lappa Valley are our three unique railways, each offering a different adventure. Our Main Railway takes families on a scenic journey through the valley into the park, while the Lakeside Railway offers a charming miniature railway experience around the adventure play areas. The Newlyn Downs Branch Line adds another exciting adventure, taking visitors on a journey through beautiful surroundings aboard one of our smaller trains.

For many children, the trains are where the magic begins. Watching steam locomotives arrive at the station, hearing the whistle echo through the valley, and waving to passengers as the trains pass by all become part of the experience. At the centre of the park is The Engine Shed — our large indoor space home to a fantastic multi-level soft play area and café. It means the fun continues whatever the forecast, making Lappa Valley the perfect destination for sunny summer adventures, drizzly days, or family visits outside of the main holiday season.

Children can climb, slide, crawl, and explore across multiple levels of indoor play, while grown-ups can relax nearby with great coffee and freshly prepared food from our café. The Engine Shed has become a favourite part of the experience for many families, offering somewhere warm, welcoming, and full of energy all year round.

Our café serves a range of delicious home-cooked meals, lighter bites, sweet treats, and drinks, making it easy to settle in and enjoy a relaxed family meal during your visit. Large windows overlook the play areas and surrounding surroundings, helping create a calm and enjoyable environment for parents, grandparents, and carers while children continue the adventure.

Outside, there’s even more to discover. Families can enjoy a wide range of outdoor play areas designed for different ages, giving children plenty of space to climb, slide, swing, balance, and explore. From imaginative adventures to energetic play, there’s something around every corner to capture young imaginations.

Visitors can also take to the water aboard our popular pedalo swans, enjoy friendly competition on our 12-hole accessible adventure golf course, or try their hand at our 10-hole Frisbee Golf course. Younger visitors love exploring the toddler’s path maze, while trampolines and woodland walks add even more opportunities for outdoor fun and adventure.
