Attraction Information
Canoe the Broads with locations in Bungay, Burgh St Peter, Geldeston, Hickling, Martham, Potter Heigham, Salhouse Broad, Sutton Staithe, Wayford Bridge and Wroxham.
An intimate and charming way to explore some of the 200km of navigable Norfolk waterways: see exclusive sights pedestrians will miss and experiences with shy wildlife denied to louder forms of boating. The waters here are naturally calm and tranquil lending themselves to all abilities from absolute beginner onward.
A standard canoe sits 2 adults and 2 children under 9 years. Kayaks are single or double passenger. Sit On Kayaks come in single, double and triple passenger sizes. Whichever method you choose you will begin by receiving full training and safety briefing plus be fitted with a buoyancy aid.
Each of the hire centres varies significantly and not all vessels are available at each point, so plan ahead carefully to get what you want from the adventure. We have centred the listing contact details on Wroxham as an excellent base because it is considered the 'heart' of the broads, but also because it is one of the best spots to begin from scratch with additional beginner support and really simplistic launching options. Other contact details for other hire centres are available online.
Opening Times
Most hire centres are open April to September. As a sample, the Wroxham centre is open 8am to 4pm, 7 days a week.
