Explore the original Victorian winding machine or wander around the different galleries and see the latest exhibitions on show, many of which are hands-on activities.
This is a fantastic experience for children to get up close with historical artefacts. There's also an exciting events programme running throughout the year with special activities during school holidays.
Things to do
See the Original Victorian Winding Engine
The Winding House museum has a stunning centrepiece which gives a real insight into the mining history and mining experience of the area. Historical activities like the ones available at The Winding House will really bring the past to life for the younger generation.
