Smugglers Riding School

At Smugglers Riding School, there’s something for every rider. We welcome all ages and abilities, from first-timers aged 2+ through to competitive adults, and proudly cater for riders with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

Our offering includes:

• Mechanical horse sessions for the youngest or most nervous riders

• Children’s and adult riding lessons

• BHS training and examinations

• Coaching for competitive riders with their own horses

Set in our fantastic facilities — complete with on-site café and tack shop — Smugglers is the perfect place to learn, grow, and enjoy everything the equestrian world has to offer.

Whatever the Welsh weather throws at us, your lesson goes ahead as planned — no cancellations, no rescheduling, no soggy rides cut short. Our purpose-built facilities are designed to support every stage of the journey, from a total beginner’s first steps in the saddle to focused schooling for competition riders. The indoor arena keeps lessons warm, dry, and consistent through the winter months, while the outdoor arena makes the most of good weather for open, spacious training. Whatever your level or the season, Smugglers gives you the space to progress.

Experienced, BHS-qualified instructors who tailor every lesson to the rider. Every rider learns differently, and our instructors take the time to understand what works for you — whether that’s building confidence in a nervous first-timer, sharpening technique for a competitive rider, or adapting sessions for Additional Learning Needs. With BHS qualifications behind every lesson, you’re learning proper technique from day one, taught in a way that suits how you learn best.
