About Wellington Arch

Wellington Arch, also known as Constitution Arch or (originally) the Green Park Arch, is a triumphal arch located in London, England. It's an iconic structure, steeped in history and architectural beauty. It is now one of London's most recognisable landmarks. We think it's a great place to take kids to learn about history in a fun way and see the amazing views from the top. Let's explore this landmark..

History and Construction

Wellington Arch was built between 1826 and 1830. It was designed by the famous architect Decimus Burton as a celebration of Britain's victories in the Napoleonic Wars. Originally, it was part of a grand scheme to improve the royal parks. The arch was named after the Duke of Wellington.
