Everyone knows Morphe, right? The miniature clay character that is super cheeky and funny? He was a feature character on Take Hart and guest appeared on Art Attack back in the day and he's had his own shows too - entertaining generations of kids. Well, now the kids can find him in central London, on an amazing art trail - by Wild In Art and Whizz Kids.
About the event
This year you'll find an amazing, free art trail coming to central London - becoming the must-see attraction of Summer 2023! The animated clay character will be welcoming everyone whether you're looking for a children's trail for locals, or you're visiting from further afield.It's actually the country's first step-free art trail of its kind by Whizz-Kids (the UK's leading charity for young wheelchair users). Not only is it exciting and aimed at kids, but it's also an accessible adventure trail for all, which is really great for everyone!
Dotted around central London you'll find 56 six-foot-tall sculptures of the much-loved children's TV character, Morph. At this public art event, each colourful Morph will be unique in nature and designed by epic, well-known and emerging artists. As well as Mini Morph sculptures created by schools, which will be alongside the trail too. Adding more pizazz and excitement to the trail!
This fun family-friendly art trail is free and open to the public. You'll have a trail map and an app that will navigate the public through London and its streets. Along the way, you'll discover all the Morph sculptures and some interesting fun facts and rewards!
So, not only will you enjoy an epic adventure passing by everyone's favourite tourist attractions, but you'll get stuck in the Wild In Art London event! Think of it as an outdoor art gallery that you have to find!
Where will they be?
Right by 56 of London's famous landmarks! From London's famous streets like South Bank and the River Thames right into the historic City of London. You'll also find the Morphs at Tate Modern, Tower of London, Shakespeare's Globe and Borough Market!
What's the trail for?
Simply put - to help increase the awareness of why mobility access is greatly needed for wheelchair users.
A learning programme for participating schools will also help educate school kids on the importance of accessibility and the inclusion of developing their own creative skills. So, not only is it a fab family trail, but it's educational on why there needs to be more of an inclusive society. Especially for those who have mobility issues that affect their daily experiences.
Then after the 8-week trail, all the super-sized sculptures of Morph will be auctioned off to raise money and awareness for Whizz-Kids. As they help transform the lives of young wheelchair users across the UK.
It's a great accessible trail that will have you enjoying the summer outdoors with a super fun trail that is all for a good cause!
