A magical forest adventure

Welcome to the Secret Forest Yorkshire!

An outdoor adventure that whisks you and your little explorers into a woodland where magic feels just a heartbeat away. Step through the leafy gateway and follow the tale of Sir Vavasour as it unfolds among twisting paths, hidden nooks, and sparkling surprises. Along the way, you might spot evidence of the mischievous Bogglins peeking from behind tree roots, or catch a shimmer of fairy wings dancing in the dappled light.

There’s something for every curious soul here, whether they’re tiny toddling adventurers or grown-up explorers rediscovering their sense of wonder. Clamber through imaginative play areas, dig and build in the sand pit, lose yourselves in the winding willow labyrinth, or create your own melodies with the enchanting forest instruments. Every corner invites laughter, discovery, and just a hint of magic.

Set across 77 acres of beautiful woodland within the grounds of a real castle, the Secret Forest is more than a day out, it’s a story waiting to be lived. Wander beneath ancient trees, follow secret trails, and keep your eyes peeled… you never know who or what you might see.

Unlock imagination with interactive play

Interactive play brings the forest to life in the most delightful ways. Little adventurers can follow trails, solve playful clues, and invent their own tales as they go, turning simple moments into unforgettable memories. Whether they’re navigating a winding labyrinth, crafting in nature-inspired spaces, or discovering hidden surprises tucked among the trees, there’s always something new to spark creativity.

For parents, it’s a chance to watch imaginations flourish while enjoying meaningful time together outdoors. For children, it’s pure, joyful discovery.

Step softly… you’re entering a place where tiny doors hide big secrets and every crooked twig might be part of a magical home.

The Fairy & Bogglin Villages are a delightfully curious corners of the forest where imagination takes the lead and anything feels possible. Peek into enchanting fairy houses, spot the playful signs of Bogglins at work, and let little minds dream up the stories behind each hidden detail.

Children can wander, wonder, and invent their own woodland tales as they explore this miniature world. Who lives behind that mossy doorway? What mischief have the Bogglins been up to today? Every visit brings new discoveries, encouraging creativity, storytelling, and a sense of gentle adventure.

Broomstick Cafe & Gift Shop

After all that magical exploration, even the bravest adventurers may feel a rumble in their tummies… but fear not, the Broomstick Café is ready to swoop in and save the day. Nestled within the forest, this cosy spot is the perfect place to pause, refuel, and share stories of fairy sightings and Bogglin encounters.

Serving a delicious selection of sweet and savoury treats, there’s something to satisfy every appetite. Warm up with a comforting hot drink, cool down with refreshing cold options, or tuck into a tasty snack that hits the spot just right. And of course, no visit would be complete without a scoop (or two!) of our signature Unicorn Ice Cream, a colourful, magical treat that’s just as delightful as it sounds.

Before you leave, browse our gift stand, where you’ll find charming treasures and keepsakes to remember your adventure. Whether it’s a little token of magic or a special surprise for someone at home, there’s plenty to discover.

Because every great adventure deserves a delicious ending… or perhaps just a tasty interlude.
