Get in touch with nature at RSPB Fairburn Ings: a glorious nature reserve in the northern countryside.
Families can follow the easily accessible trails, winding through the woodlands and lakeside. Enjoy a spot of birdwatching with lapwings and redshanks aplenty in the wetlands. There’s also an amazing heronry where you can watch these majestic birds claim their nests and rear their young in Spring and Summer.
Be sure to rent your nets for the family favourite activity, pond dipping. Plenty of creepy crawlies to keep the kids entertained!

Closed Christmas Day.
