First built in 1878, decorated with the finest, luxurious Victorian velvet, gold leaf and ornate plasterwork and a glamourous Waterford Crystal chandelier. Made with an impressive 6389 crystals, it dazzles you as soon as you set your eyes upon it. It truly is grand by name and grand by nature.
Present Day Theatre
The theatre is now a part of Leeds Heritage Theatres and has been dubbed 'Grand Old Lady of Leeds' and has been entertaining audiences all around since 1878. And is now a host to the best of the West End as well as Opera North and Northern Ballet and much more. Such as Gary Barlow and Tim Firth's The Girls and Band of Gold.
