Attraction Information
The House on the Hill Toy Museum is the largest known privately owned toy museum in all of Europe with more than 80,000 fascinating items of mixed antiquity toys available to view, based on the collection of just one toy loving man who started in 1946 by buying a Hornby train set with his pocket money!
It covers numerous differing aspects of toys through the ages, revealing the culture, fashions and technological developments of this and other countries when it comes to playtime! Toys and play are a vital part of childhood, provide the stimulus needed for kids' development and oh yeah, they're loads of fun!
There is also a display of film, theatre and rock 'n' roll memorabilia and a large collection of vintage slot machines and other coin operated delights plus puppets, military toys, board games, space teddies, basically everything you can imagine and then some! So kids of all ages including granddad's will find something that makes them smile!
Located within the Toy Museum is The Haunted Manor, if you're feeling brave enough Encounter our life sized dinosaurs on the way to the museum and try your hand at Fossil hunting in our Palaeontology House, can you find the Velociraptor's claw? Would you want to? Eek!
