River Bourne Community Farm
Salisbury, WiltshireAbout River Bourne Community Farm
River Bourne Community Farm is a great opportunity to see a working farm and purchase the produce from the farm shop.
Education plays a large part in this farm, with an emphasis on sustainability and ecologically sound practices.
The kids will really enjoy walking around the farm. There are plenty of chickens roaming everywhere plus some very friendly goats and donkeys. There is also a herd of cattle, plus pigs and sheep. The farm also has two beehives.
There is an education field and a polytunnel, where fruit and vegetables are grown. There are also nature trails to follow, with lots of plants and animals to spot. (Online, there are several identification sheets that can be printed off, including one for birds and another for butterflies.)
The trails also allow you and the kids to take in the farm and its animals plus to see the watermeadows and river. There are information boards along the walk to give you some interesting facts about the surrounding wildlife.
