Redwings Horse Sanctuary Caldecott
Browston Green, NorfolkAbout Redwings Horse Sanctuary Caldecott
Redwings Caldecott, a Visit England Quality Assured Visitor Attraction, is a must-see for all donkey and mule lovers with a herd of over 30 of the adorable, long-eared creatures! Among the gorgeous, rescued residents, you can enjoy cuddles with cute little donkey Esther who was rescued from the horrific conditions at Spindle Farm in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, in 2008. Handsome Shire cross Fox and cheeky Shetland pony Sampson can’t wait to meet you either!
After a relaxing stroll, you can put your feet up with a warm cuppa and a slice of cake in Oliver’s Café. There’s also an on-site gift shop offering a wide range of souvenirs, with all proceeds supporting the hundreds of animals in Redwings’ care.
Having met the centre’s lovable residents, you might like to sponsor one of the charity’s adorable Adoption Stars. Available from just £2 a month, you can adopt for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one.
Redwings Caldecott is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday all year round, 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Paddocks close at 3.30pm.
Entry and parking are free, but donations of all sizes can really support the charity’s work if you would like to make one. Dogs on leads are welcome.
There are around 10 disabled parking spaces in the newly resurfaced carpark with a central concrete pathway leading to a fully accessible visitor reception. The wide grass tracks around the main paddocks and the gravel track around the stable yard can be negotiated in a wheelchair. A staff member will be happy to offer advice regarding this.
Opening Times
Redwings Caldecott will close on the 24th December and will reopen on the 6th January 2023.
