Yarmouth Hippodrome
Great Yarmouth, NorfolkAbout Yarmouth Hippodrome
Yarmouth Hippodrome Ffamous as Britain's sole surviving complete circus building, built in 1903! There are a splendid variety of family oriented shows and musical performances held throughout the year, but there are also some annual favourites that everyone should know about!
The Christmas Spectacular And Water Show runs annually December through January; plus summer sees 8 weeks of global standard circus performances, including a synchronised swimming act within the water feature: one of only 4 such feature acts in the world! An iconic and beloved attraction representing the area proudly and a must see if you're only going to be visiting once.
After the show be sure to stop in at the museum for memorabilia from the venue's greatest shows over the century plus other highlights include vintage backstage equipment, a collection of clown heads and some genuine Houdini Props!
With school age kids it's worth mentioning that the Hippodrome has unique wartime history too, having been apolitical rally arena for Lloyd George and borrowed as a military practice shooting range!
