About Polka Theatre
Polka Theatre creates world class theatre and creative hub for everyone! We are one of the few venues in the UK that is dedicated to producing and presenting work for young audiences, and our unique venue has been entertaining kids with engaging theatre since 1979! After a recent redevelopment we are excited to welcome everyone to our wonderful and accessible spaces. Pop in to play for free at Polka! We have an outdoor playground, an indoor play area with rocking horses, and a dressing up chest: just come in any time we are open. Treat yourself to something tasty from our cafe, and sit in the train while you enjoy it. We also have lots of workshops for children, where they can learn all the behind the scenes tricks of the trade and become a designer, musician, dancer or actor for the day. We also have lots of craft making workshops for all age ranges. Full details on after school and holiday workshops can be found online. It is recommended that you take note of the lower age limits on shows in the Main Theatre, which will help you choose a suitable show for your child, and ensure that all audience members enjoy the performance. Every show at Polka has a recommended age range.
