Attraction Information
History buffs, this is one for you. Lancashire Infantry Museum is the largest regimental archive in Northern England and is packed with costumes, crafts and family fun.
Housed in the old Fulwood Barracks, it’s a real treasure trove with records, intriguing artefacts and preserved achievements of the infantry regiments of Central Lancashire, the Queen's Lancashire regiment and its' predecessors the East, South and Loyal North Lancashire Regiments.
Sometimes it can be hard to get kids engaged with exhibitions, but there’s no fear of that here: they can dress up in uniform or try on helmets and caps, as well as being allowed to hold some of the weapons (where safe and appropriate). They can then explore the material with videos, jigsaws and even respond in their own way with crayons and colouring kits. It’s basically an education with all the fun bits.
