Kelburn Castle and Estate is one of Scotland's most beautiful, magical and interesting hidden gems. The Estate boasts over 3500 acres where you’ll find plenty of great things to keep the kids entertained! From an incredible waterfall and beautiful woodland walks in the Never Ending Glen, a Giant's Castle and other magical locations in the Secret Forest, the Iconic Grafitti Castle it's self and The Great Kelburn Quest, To our lovely Farm Animals, brilliant Gift Shop, wonderful Cafe, Ice Creamery and fantastic Equestrian Centre there’s all sorts of great things to discover!
Little Explorers and keen adventurers can also have fun in our Saloon area and Playbarn - they are both enclosed spaces, with slides, crawl spaces, features to climb and a knack for maying core memories! With the saloon being outside and the playbarn being inside you always have a weather dependant option!

For animal loving adventurers who anjoy a more action packed outdoor experience, Kelburn Equestrian offer a variety of horsey themed activities. The BHS accredited team pride themselves on providing a fantastic experience from the least to most experienced riders! Some of the activities they offer are:
- Beginner Lessons (5 yrs+)
- Experienced Lessons
- Pony Stars
- Fun Days
- Hacks (Riders must undergo a short assessment before they can go on a hack)
- Pony Rides (Subject to event conditions, children 2+ years)
- Pony experience meet and greet sessions (Children 3yrs+)

(All horseriding activities take place at the discretion of our staff, regardless of booking. They reserve the right to assess if riders can safely participate in the activities and deny access to the activity based on if we feel that the safety of the rider or horse is in question.)

Scotland's Hidden Gem! An Iconic Castle & Magical Estate
Kelburn is one of Scotland's most incredible hidden gems!
Families frequent the Estate and are enamoured by the beauty and magic at every turn. From our Iconic 13th Century Castle, which is now known as the Grafitti Castle after it was painted in 2007. (It is now recognised as one of the world’s top 10 examples of street art) To our stunning woodland glen, which has a number of twisted trails and paths for exploring.
With plenty of creative surprises for the whole family to see and enjoy along the way. Trek to the top of the glen and you’ll be rewarded with incredible views across the Firth of the Clyde and over to the Isle of Arran.
Our newest activity addition the the Estate - The Great Kelburn Quest allows visitors to embrace their inner adventurer and learn of of the part Kelburn played in Scotland's history while immersing the fun and learning in a beautiful nature surrounded backdrop! (We recommend ages 3+ for this activity.)
The Secret Forest, The Saloon & The Playbarn
The Secret Forest
A place for Children and Adults alike to immerse themselves in Mother Nature's beauty whilst having a fun filled adventure! Throughout the Forest there are a number of different sites to see and areas to explore. Our passion lies in bringing our visitors back to nature, a chance to move away from technology and enjoy time with one another in the fresh air.
(Access to the secret forest is £5 per person)
The Saloon
An adventurers haven enclosed sandy area with a slide, crawl spaces and a high reaching viewpoint for a vast look at the Square and out toward the sea, it's a perfect for younger kids and families to play in.
The Playbarn
It’s easy for kids and parents to lose track of time in Kelburn’s custom-built Indoor Playbarn. Mums and dads can relax in the seating area while children tackle climbing walls, slides and much more. With room for up to 30 youngsters at a time, the playbarn is an ideal venue for parties and school trips.

Events and activities for Children
Kelburn is passionate about bringing kids back to nature and encouraging them to have fun in the fresh air!
Throughout the year we host a number of child friendly events including"
- Immersive Easter experience - which allows families to explore parts of the estate, interact with characters, take part in the events various activities and enjoy a finale show. (The story, characters and activities change every year)
- The School of Sorcery - A chance for children to embrace the magic of the estate, take part in fun activities, interact with the weird and wacky witches and wizards that make up the teaching staff and have a brilliant day out at a wonderful event. (The activities and Story change every year)
- Kids Halloween event - A Halloween themed event which allows children to embrace the scary season and enjoy a range of different activities! (This activity changes every year)
For children interested in horse riding we have Kelburn Equestrian Centre! Located a short walk from the information desk - Kelburn Equestrian offers a range of activities including:
