About Gourock Outdoor Pool
Gourock Outdoor Pool provides a great opportunity to enjoy an open air swim in a salt water pool that is heated to 28.8 degrees Celsius (84 degrees Fahrenheit).
A range of activities and classes are available to suit everyone, and the Pool has been awarded the European Pool Safety Award for its high standards in pool safety, making it a great place for a family splash about. Free swimming is available for all Inverclyde school children, plus residents aged 60 or older.
Thanks to a recent refurbishment as part of a £1.8 million renovation project, there is a new gym, plus modern changing facilities, and improved disabled access. A terraced area and a traditional patio, with spectacular views of the Clyde Estuary, surround the pool. So there is plenty of space to relax by the pool as you watch your little water babies having a whale of a time! For those who would like to transform their belly flop to the perfect pike position, they can take the plunge from a 1m (3'3”) springboard, or a 3m (9'10”) high dive platform.
Family Fun Sessions are available on a Wednesday, with funky floats and large rafts to enjoy. Older kids may enjoy the Midnight swim sessions that are held throughout the summer, offering a unique swimming experience under the stars.
Gourock Pool also offers beginners' kayak sessions during the summer season, providing a safe environment to learn the basics from a qualified instructor with all equipment provided. The pool is also available to hire for birthday parties and special events!
