Island Planetarium is a great place to have a cosmic time with the kids and stimulate your imagination as you travel on a fascinating journey through time and space! It is set in Fort Victoria Country Park, which offers seashore and woodland walks, a Marine Aquarium, Underwater Archaeology Centre, plus a Model Railway, so you can really make a day of your visit to the area.
The Planetarium offers a number of daily shows to enjoy, plus Stargazing Evenings and Weekends, and a Solar System Trail. So there are a number of opportunities to learn about the universe and the various objects within it, such as stars and planets.
Discover fascinating facts and about the life and death of a star, learn about light years and the size of space, and much more in this man made universe that will take you places you have never been. Travel from the surface of the moon to the depths of outer space in an immersive Astrodome 360 Star Theatre!
There are also some great space science displays to investigate, plus an exhibition dedicated to Robert Hooke, a great scientist and inventor.
