One of the South East’s best-kept secrets. This historic house and garden, rich in fascinating history, welcomes visitors all year round with a range of exhibitions and public events and stunning spaces for weddings and other celebrations. Garden entry is free.
Hall Place is a Grade I listed country house built in 1537, you can book on public tours to discover the house. We have a cafe on site sitting alongside the River Cray, toilets, an art gallery, as well as a miniature railway running seasonally alongside our Jambs Owls Experience.
Lots of events happen throughout the year including Farmers Markets, Open Air Theatre, Open Air Cinema, Garden Trails, Bat Walks and much more.

The amazing animal heraldic shapes were planted for Queen Elizabeth II Coronation in 1953!
Live owls experience on site
We have an amazing parliament of owls on site that the public can visit, and even hold!
Our historic house is Tudor and nearly 500 years old!!
It was even used in WW2 for top secret war work linked to Bletchley Park!

By car – Hall Place is located just off the A2 at the Black Prince interchange 5 miles from Junction 2 of the M25 towards London and offers free parking. For Sat Navs our postcode is: DA5 1PQ
By rail – the nearest rail connection is Bexley BR (15 minutes’ walk to Hall Place or a taxi rank is available outside the station).
By bus – Bus connections include 229, 492, B12 and 132 to the foot of Gravel Hill.
By bike – We have bike racks in the car park at Hall Place. Please note that bicycles may not be ridden within the gardens or parkland.
By coach – There is designated parking for three coaches in the Hall Place car park.
