Greenhead Park
Huddersfield, West YorkshireAbout Greenhead Park
Greenhead Park is a Green Flag award-winning park close to Huddersfield Town Centre that has been open since 1884 and is still a popular place to get away from. as it is the perfect place to unwind, spend time with friends or family, and play!
The park has large play areas over two sites, including a separate enclosed area for younger children with sand play, slides, swings and wheelchair friendly roundabout. The main play area has a tall climbing structure with a tube slide, zip wire, basket swing and much more. Both play areas have picnic tables nearby for families to enjoy. A traditional play area is also available, and you will find numerous fitness areas designed around adult fitness but equally appealing to kids.
There's a miniature railway on a third of a mile track that runs weekends and Bank holidays March through autumn from 1.30pm to 4pm (weather permitting) and on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in the school summer holidays.
An ornamental lake, fountain, and summer paddling pool make this park extra special, so you might want to take towels and a change of clothes in the warm, or even not so warm, weather.
There are also tennis courts, bowling greens, a large skate park and 2 cafes!
