Climb Aboard Vehicles!
Some of our exhibits are even climb aboard! Our Favourites include the massive Mack 6x6 Snowplough and the Sentinel Steam Waggon.
Located in the vibrant village of Alford, just 45 minutes from Aberdeen, the Grampian Transport Museum has dramatic displays, interactive exhibits and multi-media presentations that depict the history of road travel in the region. With ever-changing exhibits, repeat visits are common as there's always something new to see!
The Climb Aboard interactive vehicle exhibits include trams, a Steam lorry, and a masssive Mack Snow Plough. It's a veritable living museum with numerous transport-related events taking place throughout the open season. Events include Alford, How Many Left, AllFord and Family Fun Days. Plus, there's an outside playground for your under 12's to get their rev on! There are also always fun quizzes and trails for the younger visitors to enjoy inside the museum. Outside, the front lawn - complete with a distinctive red phone box and Birkhall Steam Engine - is a great place to enjoy a picnic while the kids let off steam in the play park.

Ensure you pick up a quiz from the reception desk to keep them entertained while you explore the museum. From finding the character to a numberplate hunt there is plenty to keep them amused when you visit.
