Grampian Transport Museum has dramatic displays, cool push-button exhibits and multi-media presentations that depict the history of road travel in the region. With ever-changing exhibits, repeat visits are common as there's always something new to see!
The Climb Aboard interactive vehicle exhibits include buses, trams, a traction engine, a fire engine and a Mack Snow Plough. It's a veritable living museum with numerous transport-related events taking place throughout the open season. Events include Alford, How Many Left, AllFord and Electric Vehicle Expo, Grampian Motorcycle Convention and Family Fun Days. Plus, there's an outside adventure playground for your under 12's to get their rev on! There are also always fun quizzes and trails for the younger visitors to enjoy inside the museum. Outside, the front lawn - complete with a distinctive blue phone box and Birkhall Steam Engine - is a great place to enjoy a picnic while the kids let off steam in the custom play park.
The Junior Driving School offers children the chance to ‘drive’ our miniature cars around our driving track, which is solely designed and used for this purpose. They’ll learn the basics of driving safety, taught by experienced and friendly operators.

The Travellers Rest tearoom is open everyday 10:30 to 16:30 (3.30pm in October). The tearoom offers a nice place to relax and enjoy a morning coffee, afternoon tea and light lunches. There is also a picnic area near the main entrance if you fancy bringing your own and you can even finish off your lunch with an ice cream from the tearoom... or maybe just grab one as a treat on those warm sunny days!
