Attraction Information

Grampian Transport Museum has dramatic displays, cool push button exhibits and multi-media presentations depict the history of road travel in the region.

With ever changing exhibits, repeat visits are common as there's always something new to see!

The Climb Aboard interactive vehicle exhibits include: buses, trams, a traction engine, a fire engine and a Mack Snow Plough. It's a veritable living museum with numerous transport related events taking place throughout the open season and loads to see, do and learn. Events include Alford Speedfest, Grampian Motorcycle Convention, Family Fun Days and CycleFest.

Plus, there's an outside adventure playground for you're under 12's to get their rev on! There are also always fun quizzes and trails for the younger visitors to enjoy inside the museum. Outside, the front lawn - complete with distinctive blue phone box and Birkhall Steam Engine - is a great place to enjoy a picnic while the kids let off steam in the custom play park.

The Junior Driving School offers children the chance to ‘drive’ our miniature cars around our driving track, which is solely designed and used for this purpose. They’ll learn the basics of driving safety, taught by experienced and friendly operators.
