Birmingham Museum and Gallery
Birmingham, West MidlandsAbout Birmingham Museum and Gallery
Take education outside of the classroom and bring history to life at the Birmingham Museum and Gallery.
This stunning building houses the Staffordshire Hoard Gallery, which is the biggest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold ever found. Take the time to pour over and study this treasure as it lays safety beneath glass. The artists of the family will love the Pre-Raphaelites and its 3000 strong collection of beautiful paintings, drawings and prints.
Most school children learn about Egypt, so let them take the lead as you wander around the Ancient Egypt Gallery. Find out more about the history of Birmingham as you find yourself walking the streets of the 18th century town and get younger ones excited about art and natural history through story-telling, dress up and games in the Mini Museum for the under 5s.
