About Depot Climbing Birmingham

Birmingham's biggest bouldering centre, bringing modern climbing to the city in a bright and spacious indoor environment.

Bouldering is a style of climbing that does not involve ropes or a harness, climbing at lower levels and relying on matting underneath the wall to aid with the risk of falling. Our walls are up to 4 meters high and the matting does not guarantee your safety, so roped climbing may be more suitable if you have reservations about the risks involved in bouldering.

We opened in November 2017 and have developed and expanded our wall to become Birmingham’s largest and most comprehensive bouldering wall, with over 500 hundred square meters of floor space and over 300 boulders for all abilities. We also have an expansive training area for experienced climbers and a comprehensive gym offering on a 1st-floor mezzanine.

Wide Range of Kids Climbing Classes

With a range of casual and nationally accredited instructed climbing classes suitable for EYFS through KS1, 2 & 3, we've got everything you and your young ones need to start your climbing journeys.

Choose from Wild Climbers (4-6), Kids Club & Holiday Club (7-14), NICAS Bouldering scheme (7+), or even just come in and climb.

All of our staff and instructors are DBS checked and undergo NSPCC Child Protection training, so you can be sure your kids are in safe hands.

No experience? No problem!

We have a team of expert instructors and coaches on hand to help you and your young ones take the first steps of your climbing journey.

Our instructors are DBS-checked and receive NSPCC Child Protection training, so you can be sure you're in the safest hands.

We have equipment hire on offer for everything you need to get on the walls, with specialised climbing shoes suitable for growing feet.

At Depot Climbing, all of your needs can be catered for.

Coffee, Cakes, Pizzas and more!

Our on-site pizza oven offers a basic pizza menu for all the family. We've got a range of treats to keep you climbing.

We also have a grab-and-go fridge with a selection of cold drinks, snack bars and crisps, while behind the counter, our desk team are trained to craft coffee, your way.

There are seating options for all group sizes, in our comfortable cafe area with great views of the climbing walls.

So whether you're coming to climb with the family, or wait while your young one takes part in a session, we've got everything you need for a comfortable visit.
