About Beacon Park Boats
Beacon Park Boats offer exceptionally quiet electric day boat tours on the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal. Or if you fancy something a bit more energetic try the Canadian canoes! No experience is required for either as full training will be given. Day, half day and hourly boat hire available.
Electric day boats include: expert instruction (so no experience is necessary), simple wheel steering, rainproof covers, life jackets, quiet, ‘green' engines and a boating pole for pushing off, plus mooring pins and a hammer for securing the boat and a lock handle to operate the locks and lift bridge. Up to two dogs are welcome on board too!
Canadian canoes include: again expert instruction, so fine for beginners; a single bladed paddle for each person; life jackets all round; mooring pins and hammer for securing the boat and again up to 2 family pooches welcome to join you!
You can moor up for a picnic virtually anywhere on the towpath side of the canal and there are various pubs scattered along the riverside that you will pass too. There are also pubic loos at several points including Theatr Brycheiniog, the arts centre in the Mon and Brec and the White Hart Car Park, otherwise you'll have to stop at a pub: sounds like a good excuse to us!
