About The RAF Air Defence Radar Museum
The RAF Air Defence Radar Museum Enter the atmospheric 'Cold War' operations room which during the 1970's would have housed seventy operational personnel. Sit at one of the terminals, but be ready to react if the early warning system sounds, You may have only 4 minutes! Sit in the Fighter Allocators seat and imagine how it must have felt to be responsible for our fighter planes. Test your skills at the original fighter control computers, used by the RAF school in the early 1980s. How many enemy bombers can you shoot down before they get to the UK? Plus informative and compelling exhibits: this is an enthralling day out!
Opening Times
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Bank Holiday Mondays, April to October. Also open on the second Saturday of each month. 10.00am - 5.00pm Talks on Radar during WW2 will be given at 10:30am, 12:15pm, 1.45pm and 3:15pm. Talks on Cold War will be given at 11:30am
