About The Heritage Centre at Bellingham

Families with children are especially welcome at the Heritage Centre, Bellingham. As well as exploring the displays, where some items can be handled, they can ride the toy tractor, check out the coal mine tunnel, dial up recordings by local people in the old red phone box, use the 'Chatterboxes' to hear memories or music, do quizzes and trails, play in the old school 'room', or try out a Reiver's helmet for size.

  • Explore the stories of the people and places of the Northumberland borders

    Railways, Reivers, school days, farming, photography, mining, forestry - just some of the things you can discover in this fascinating museum, with lots of fun activities for the children.

  • The Parcel Shed

    The Heritage Centre is in the station yard of the former Bellingham Station. Inside the old Parcel Shed on the platform, you will find posters, photographs and objects to take you back in time.

  • Tea on the Train

    Enjoy tea, cake, sandwiches and other light refreshments in the First Class High Speed Train carriage
