About Go Ape Matfen

Swing through the tree tops and fly down zip wires whilst lapping up some of the finest scenery in Northumberland at Go Ape Matfen. This was the first Go Ape to be built on the grounds of a country house hotel (Matfen Hall) so, you're blessed with stunning views all around you!

Get your fill of thrills and enjoy your Go Ape adventure experience. Whether you love high-wire adventures, get your kicks from forest ziplines or enjoy stress-busting Axe Throwing, it's an adventure enthusiast's delight!

Fun Activities for Thrill Seekers

Mini daredevils will have a blast conquering the thrilling Treetop Challenge, that's for sure! As they soar high in the canopy, with 360-degree views of their forest journey. Home to extreme obstacles like stirrups, the half-trapeze and the free-falling Tarzan Swing, you’ll breathe a sigh of relief when you reach the breathtaking zip line finale - or will you? Oh and for you zipline fanatics - this course is also home to the challenging skateboard zip, you definitely need nerves of steel!

The most unique Go Ape!

Newcastle has a couple of Go Ape claims to fame! It's the only course with tree-top crossings and activities designed and dedicated to local landmarks and it’s the first adventure to be built on the grounds of a country house hotel, Matfen Hall.

Tackle the ultimate challenge of the Skateboard Zip

Step out onto a wooden skateboard on the final zip wire at Go Ape Matfen Hall and take on the infamous Skateboard Zip!

Axe throwing is available!

Axe throwing is available for older kids and adults (16+). Are you ready to channel your inner Viking and hit a bullseye?
