The sun is shining, the temperatures are finally rising and the school holidays are fast-approaching. So, it's about time we shared our ideas for getting summer sorted, starting with our action-packed list of summer activities and things to do in the summer. Having seen what's in store for the next couple of months, we can tell you one thing - summer 2019 will be like no other! There are enough ideas  here to make sure you create an unmissable summer for you and your little adventurers.

Just one more thing before we begin, make sure you reach the end because our number 10 is one that keeps on giving...

  1. Summer Activities for Kids at Folly Farm, Pembrokeshire

    Celebrate Visit Wales Year of Discovery with a fun-filled summer day out at the award-winning Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo. There you’ll not only meet all sorts of adorable creatures - from farmyard favourites to exotic animals, but you’ll also discover an exciting programme of family-friendly events.

    Let’s talk about the things to do in the summer at Folly Farm! For starters, there’s the new Wallaby Ranch adventure play area to explore. Then, you can see the sulcata tortoises in "Tortoise Country" enclosure, and meet Tuppee and Lightcap - the resident two-toed sloths, in the newly rebranded Tropical Trails. Oh, and don’t forget to check out the newest development at the farm - "Asian Adventure"! The year’s summer holiday activities also include Pirate Days, the Luke Jugglestruck magic show and lots more summer fun.

  2. Turtle-y Awesome Summer at The Deep, East Yorkshire

    20th July to 1st September 2019

    Time to shell-ebrate summer with the turtle-y awesome summer holiday activities at The Deep! You and your kids will have the chance to make friends with an adorable giant turtle and get hands on with your new underwater buddies at the “turtle hospital”. By the end of the day, your tiny animal experts will know how to perform a full health check on a turtle - from inspecting their eyes, nose and mouth, to checking their flippers and shell.

    You’ll get the chance to explore an educational turtle trail and learn about turtles around the world. Plus, you’ll have the chance to watch interactive presentations from the experts at the Deep at 11pm, 1pm and 3pm. Make sure your kids make it to the face painting session in Craft Corner from 11am to 4pm, as well!

  3. Jungle Adventure Live Action Stage Show at Paultons Family Theme Park , Hampshire

    25th May – 31st August 2019

    Looking for a place brimming with summer activities for kids? Paultons Family Theme Park is the obvious choice! It’s not only the UK’s number one family theme park, boasting 4 epic lands and over 70 exciting rides and attractions, but it’s also home to the fantastic Peppa Pig World. It’s the dream summer day out for tiny explorers under the age of 5.

    If you’re going to Paultons this summer, make sure you see the Jungle Adventure Live Action Stage Show. Paultons’ brave explorers - Charlie, Harry, Bruce and Shelly, will take you and your little ones on a thrilling journey to the Isle of Awimowe, where you’ll come face to face with lots of exciting animals like spiders, lizards, meerkats and snakes.   4. Summer Nights at West Midland Safari Park, Worcestershire

    If you’re a Midlander looking for late summer activities near you, West Midland Safari Park might just have one of the best things to do in the summer on offer! The widely-popular Summer Nights are returning this year, which means extended opening hours and even more time for wildlife fun. With the four-mile Safari Drive-through closing three hours later and the last safari leaving at 6pm, you’ll have the chance to witness the animal kingdom transition from day to night. Majestic exotic animals and the stunning colours of the sunset - summer doesn’t get more beautiful than this!

    Fan of roller coasters and theme parks? Your summer day out plans just got more exciting! The Adventure Theme Park at West Midland Safari Park will have rides open until 7.30pm, so you can enjoy fun and thrills much longer.

  5. Summer Holiday Activities at Fishers Farm Park, West Sussex

    Sky Fall at Fishers Farm Park

    Fishers Farm Park will go above and beyond to create the perfect summer day out for you this year. Some of the awesome summer activities that will be taking place at the farm over the summer holidays include pig racing, tractor and trailer ride, and a brand new Farmy Assaulty Course. Also, let’s not forget the summer fun favourite for the daredevils out there - Sky Fall. Haven’t tried it yet? It’s a heart-stopping 6-metre jump platform suitable for brave adventurers over 8 (there’s a 4-metre platform for the over-5s too). Talk about summer thrills!

    Getting soaked in a splash park is one of your kids’ favourite things to do in the hot weather? Splash Attack is the place to be! This giant, colourful splash zone is one of those “cool things to do this summer” your kids will be telling their friends about.

    1. Travel to the seaside
