The Garden
If you're in search of a tranquil environment, then you must visit the garden at Hill House Helensburgh. You'll discover seasonal delights all year long! From flowering flora in the spring, like wildflowers, to striking azaleas in the winter. Not forgetting beautiful bluebells and roses too!
There's also Japanese maples in the Rock Garden, a secluded pond area, vegetable garden and an abundance of biodiversity and wildlife in the garden. Listen out for frogs, watch out for bats and try to catch the flutter of a butterfly!
10-Year Conservation Programme
The 10-Year Pioneering Conservation Project aims to protect and preserve natural habitats, wildlife, and ecosystems for the next decade. The main goals are to prevent extinctions, restore degraded landscapes, and promote sustainable management of natural resources. Objectives include establishing protected areas, implementing conservation measures, and raising public awareness about environmental issues.
Hill House is part of this conservation practice, with a protective steel frame structure covered in a chainmail mesh, walkways over the top of Hill House and even a new visitor centre. Meaning you can get closer to the house than ever before - while preserving it!
The Visitor Centre and Gift Shop
The Visitor Centre and Gift Shop is located within the picturesque surroundings of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
The centre offers a range of facilities including guided tours, a cafe serving locally sourced refreshments, and a gift shop with a wide selection of souvenirs and locally made crafts!
