Attraction Information
The Georgian House is an excellent place to take the kids to learn about the Georgian era, including the architecture and fashions of that time.
At certain times, there are ‘servants' on duty, in period costume, who supply interesting information including a talk in the (working) kitchen with the cook (or housekeeper), where you can find out about the food that was eaten during those times and also try some samples for yourself.
The rooms are well laid out with Georgian style furniture and there are some interactive displays and a video history to keep the kids and everyone else intersted and entertained.
The staff are friendly and informative and there is great attention to detail. You really get an idea of what life was like in the house, especially as the smokey smell from the kitchen's oven spreads around the house.
Please be aware that the house is on three levels, which means that the little ones may need to be carried, plus it may not be wheelchair accessible.
