Samares Manor Playground
Jersey, Channel IslandsAbout Samares Manor Playground
Samares Manor itself and the Rural Life Museum provide an educational perspective on the property and excellent sauntering territory, while outside there are nigh endless landscaping and plant life displays to wend through, each with varying themes and features to delight the casual visitor and horticulturalist alike. It's great with kids who have just learned to walk and explore, will enjoy the variety of terrains. It's equally pleasant with sharp eyed older ones who will spot no end of charming details that add to the atmosphere.
Particularly kid friendly features include the Family Nature Quiz, the Willow Labyrinth and Jungle Path plus of course the adventure playground, so if you've got decent weather and younger children then you've got enough outside to keep them happy and busy for a few hours without even having to step into the manor house.
Other activities include Guided tours of the Manor 11.30 am and 2.30pm, available every day except Sundays at a modest additional charge; while daily guided tours of the Rural Life and Carriage Museum at 10.30am and 3.30pm plus Talks on Herbs and their uses 12.30pm every weekday are both free of charge! The carriage museum is well worth a look even with small kids as they inherently resemble princess style transport and get little imaginations revving! For more studious attention this is also a great resource for historical travel related school work, so a great one to pencil in for after they kick out for the day to back up their learning!
