Jersey Museum and Art Gallery
About Jersey Museum and Art Gallery
Jersey Museum and Art Gallery provides a great opportunity for kids and adults alike to learn the history of Jersey from Neolithic times to modern day. The museum is well laid out over three levels, with lifts available so that everyone can enjoy it. There is a good mixture of exhibits with interesting artefacts and interactive displays to keep kids entertained while they discover what life was like on the island during different eras. It is worth taking the time to watch the short film telling you about the history of the island too. The Celtic coin hoard, which was found a couple of years ago, can be seen on the third floor, being carefully cleaned and examined by archeologists in a special climate controlled room. There is a merchant house to explore, which is fully furnished and there are excellent audio visual displays to tell you about the life of the family that once lived there. There should be enough to keep you and the kids entertained for a couple of hours as there is so much to explore here.
